Andrew is married to Catherine and they have three kids: Joel, Ella and Lucy.

Andrew has been involved in youth ministry since 1989 and has held various positions in a number of Churches and para-Church organisations over the years. He is a sought after evangelist, preacher, worship leader and trainer and has spoken and taught in Western Australia, Victoria, South Australia, Queensland, Fiji, the USA, UK and Narara Valley. He is also a Black Stump regular, both as a punter and communicator.

He is keenly interested in emerging models of worship and teenage spirituality and bringing the Bible to life.

His other loves include sport (especially footy tipping), music, coffee and books (particularly Tolkien). He dreams of one day being a good skier.

Here's what some people have said about Andrew's ministry

John Lewis

Ministry Development Intern

In 2010 John joins the BYM team as the Ministry Development Intern as a part of BYM’s Synergy training strategy. This will see him travelling around NSW and the ACT to facilitate training workshops for volunteer youth leadership teams as well as being available for speaking opportunities and youth ministry coaching. John will be balancing this with full time Masters level ministry study and trying to be a good husband to Cass and fun Dad to Bella. His main strategy for this balancing is drinking copious amounts of reasonable coffee and eating meals in the shower.

John comes to this role as an experienced youth ministry practitioner having served as a youth leader, schools worker and youth pastor which has seen him build, train and lead his own youth ministry team. During this 10 years John has spoken at various youth events and camps, ran a youth ministry workshop at Blackstump, lead a short term mission team overseas and developed a ministry internship scheme for his local church. All of this has lead John to see healthy spiritual leadership as the key ingredient for youth ministry that goes beyond programs to impacting spiritual movements.

Pip Almond

Baptist Youth Ministries Administrator

Pip
Pip

Pip has absolutely loved the last 4 1/2 years working with the churches, youth pastors and youth leaders from NSW and the ACT and is currently (Jan 2010) transitioning out of the BYM team.

Thank you to everyone for your love, support, critiques, encouragement and friendship and she wishes you all the amazing and fulfilling experiences in ministry as you work with young people.

God bless ya!

Isaac Feeney

Baptist Youth Ministries Intern

Isaac
Isaac

Isaac Feeney mixes urban cool with a laid back country attitude to life.

He loves hearing and telling stories, seeing God in the everyday and helping young people to not only be awestruck by the God who made and loves them, but more committed to living maximum life.

Shane Kuchel

Rural Worship Ministries Intern

Shane
Shane

Shane has called Cronulla home for the past 4 years but regularly ventures beyond the boundaries of the Shire to find new and exciting experiences.

His childhood dreams of being a rich and famous Rock star were dashed when he followed God’s call (reluctantly) into ministry. The last four years have been spent at Cronulla Baptist Church amongst the youth, and ministry has now become Shane’s greatest joy.

In 2007 Shane will be stepping into a new and exciting ministry venture. The outback of NSW will no longer be safe! Shane hopes to support youth ministries in rural communities by training talented young musicians and leaders from around Sydney to create a team of passionate world-changers. This team will venture beyond the mountains surrounding Sydney to inspire people towards a life of true worship of our creator!

Lisa Warner

BYM Executive Administrator

Lisa came on board with BYM part time in 2009 while she completed Plunge at Morling College.

When Andrew and Pip finally got Lisa addicted to coffee, Lisa was invited to join our team as the full time BYM Executive Administrator.

She is shy, so her photo may not be forth coming for a little while. Watch this space...
